At 39 years old, Nino Schurter announced today which will be the final races of his incredible career as a mountain bike legend. In a video on his Instagram profile, the Swiss rider stated that he will skip two World Cup races in order to end his career in the best possible way.

His last race will be the World Cup stage in Lenzerheide, the third-to-last round of the series, while the penultimate will be the home World Championships in Crans-Montana. Two perfect occasions to close a chapter spanning over 20 years in front of his home crowd, where he has already won in the past.

His record to date includes 7 overall World Cup titles, 31 World Championship medals (20 golds, 10 elite rainbow jerseys), and 1 Olympic gold. Since 2006, he has always raced with the same team, now Scott-SRAM MTB Racing, with which he also won the Cape Epic.
