Will Israel-Premier Tech take part in the Giro di Lombardia? A decision has been made
For now, the Israeli team has already had to give up participating in many other Italian classics this autumn
Israel–Premier Tech has so far skipped several autumn races in Italy to avoid the already announced protests against the team in case of participation (such as at the Giro dell’Emilia, for example).
What was unexpected, however, is that the team would also skip the Giro di Lombardia — which now seems to be the case. According to Wielerflits, the team does not appear on the start list and is said to have reached an agreement with the organizers not to take part in the race, despite being entitled to do so as a WorldTour team.
Official confirmation of the news is now awaited, either from RCS Sport (the race organizer) or from the team itself. In recent days, Israel–Premier Tech announced a major change of direction that will lead it to give up its Israeli identity.
