The 2025 Cycling World Championship, to be held this year in Kigali, Rwanda, is getting closer and closer. Unlike many other teams, the Italian national team will bring one rider for each category and will make use of all the available slots for both elite squads.

According to Ciro Scognamiglio of La Gazzetta dello Sport, head coach Marco Villa has already chosen 7 of the 8 names for the men’s national team: Ciccone, Pellizzari, Bagioli, Fortunato, Frigo, Cattaneo, and Sobrero.

The last two are also expected to compete in the individual time trial, while Marco Frigo should join them for the mixed relay. The eighth rider has not yet been decided, although the most likely candidates are Garofoli, Conci, Aleotti, and Masnada. Caruso and Tiberi, once considered among the possible call-ups before the Vuelta a España, will probably not make the cut.
