Roglic to Say Goodbye to Red Bull? The Interested Teams and the Current Situation

Primoz Roglic’s future might not lie with Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe. Despite Ralph Denk, the team’s founder and manager, assuring that the Slovenian will stay on next season as per contract, former rider Thijs Zonneveld suggests nothing is set in stone yet.

The arrival of Remco Evenepoel further reduces Roglic’s chances of being team leader in any major race, especially considering the results of the squad’s younger riders—Lipowitz, Pellizzari, and Hindley—all of whom delivered strong performances in Grand Tours this year. For this reason, Roglic has yet to clarify his plans and is reportedly still deciding what to do.

Should Roglic decide to leave, the terms of his departure would need to be defined, but according to Zonneveld, several teams would be ready to welcome him. Chief among them are Movistar and Lidl-Trek, though the potential signing of Juan Ayuso by Lidl-Trek would close the door to the Slovenian. These teams, and others, are keeping their transfer options open precisely while awaiting Roglic’s decision, as he would be the crown jewel of this transfer market.

His departure would likely also see Jan Tratnik leave, forcing Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe to act in the transfer market to reinforce the squad. However, according to Daniel Benson, the team still counts on Roglic for the upcoming season, and Movistar is reportedly not interested in signing him.
