Alongside the news of a possible move by Egan Bernal to Visma | Lease a Bike—later denied by the rider himself—Beppe Conti also mentioned one or two other potential signings by the British team to strengthen their general classification ambitions.

In addition to Derek Gee and Oscar Onley, who had already been linked to the former Team Sky in recent weeks, Ineos Grenadiers are reportedly targeting Florian Lipowitz and Giulio Pellizzari. Both currently ride for Red Bull Bora-Hansgrohe, a team unlikely to let them go in theory, especially with a 2026 roster that will include also Remco Evenepoel, Primož Roglič, and Jai Hindley—five riders in total capable of targeting GC in a Grand Tour.

That’s why Ineos might hope the German squad would release one of them, perhaps one of the two youngsters who have impressed so much this season. Lipowitz shone with the white jersey and a podium finish at the Tour de France, right ahead of Onley (who finished fourth), while Pellizzari took two GC top-10s, first at the Giro d’Italia and then at the Vuelta a España. Their potential arrival, however, would theoretically only be possible thanks to the financial room created by a possible Bernal departure—so it remains to be seen what will really happen.
