Pogacar adds another race (in Italy) to his end-of-season schedule?
The world champion is expected to race in 2 events in Italy, not just Il Lombardia
In theory, Pogacar’s schedule has already been announced: the European road race championship, then Il Lombardia, and that’s it. Season over. Yet in recent hours, the possibility that the Slovenian will start another race to honor an old promise has been gaining momentum.
That race is the Tre Valli Varesine, scheduled for October 7, between this Sunday’s European championship and Il Lombardia on Saturday, October 11. The report comes from Ciro Scognamiglio of La Gazzetta dello Sport, but the news itself isn’t entirely new.
For several weeks, the race’s organizer, Renzo Oldani, had mentioned Pogacar’s promise to take part in 2025, after the 2024 edition of the Tre Valli Varesine was canceled due to bad weather. There had been no confirmation on the matter, but it now seems that Tadej will keep his word and line up this year as well, once again wearing the rainbow jersey.
