Evenepoel between dreams and goals: “My instinct tells me that…”
This season will be full of changes for Evenepoel, who for the first time in his career will race for a team different from Soudal Quick-Step. For this reason, further growth is expected from the Belgian, considering Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe’s goal of winning the Tour de France, as demonstrated by the large amounts of money invested also in the development of their athletes.
Speaking about this season, his goals and his predictions, Remco Evenepoel gave an interview to Daniel Benson. These were his words:
THE DREAM – “Naturally, my dream is to win the Yellow Jersey one day. I think the only two Grand Tours I started without problems were the 2022 Vuelta and the 2023 Giro. Before the 2024 Tour I also had a crash at the Tour of the Basque Country, so the preparation was not ideal. It went well, but it could have gone better.”
THE PREDICTION – “The people who have worked with me for a long time know that I can do it if I have a flawless preparation. But obviously the Tour is always different. My instinct tells me that, if everything goes well, I can compete for second place. As for first place, it will simply depend on the strength of Tadej and Jonas.”
