Pogacar will race in Italy (not just Il Lombardia): his end-of-season schedule
Tadej Pogacar’s plans for the end of the season after the Tour de France
After the Tour de France, Tadej Pogacar decided to change what had been confirmed as his original plan: attempting the Vuelta a España–Tour double. The Slovenian is now enjoying a long (and well-deserved) break, with his return to racing not expected before September.
His season will then be packed once again, with the first targets likely being the Grand Prix Quebec (September 12) and the Grand Prix de Montreal (September 14), as announced in the statement confirming his absence from the Vuelta. The major goals of this final part of the season will follow shortly after: the World Championships in Rwanda, where he is expected to aim for both the Individual Time Trial (September 21) and the Road Race (September 28).
From that point on, he has made no official statements, leaving his presence at other events unconfirmed. However, other remarks have revealed that, as expected, he will end his season with Il Lombardia (as Rafal Majka mentioned in an interview) on October 11. Before that, just like last year, he is expected to race in other Italian events. One confirmed by the organizer in La Prealpina is the Tre Valli Varesine, which he also attended last year when the race was canceled due to bad weather.
In addition, there are rumors that the Slovenian is considering competing at the European Championships on October 5—a race he has never won so far.
