Riders are mainly divided between those who will take part in the Vuelta and those who will not, with the World Championships and/or European Championships as major goals for many. EVENEPOEL – According to Sporza, the Belgian is expected to return to racing at the Tour of Britain in early September. He will then head to the World Championships in Rwanda, aiming to win both events. Afterwards, Remco is also set to compete in both events at the European Championships. His season will conclude with Il Lombardia and possibly a few other Italian classics.
VAN AERT – The Visma | Lease a Bike rider will skip both the Vuelta and the Worlds. He should return to competition at the Deutschland Tour, then race the Bretagne Classic, followed by the GP Québec and GP Montréal. His season will wrap up on September 20 with the Super 8 Classic.
PEDERSEN – The Dane will start at the Tour of Denmark and then take on the Vuelta a España. He will then race the Tour of Luxembourg and, if selected, the time trial at the European Championships, where he will aim to claim the continental champion’s jersey.
