POGACAR Tour de France

There’s no doubt that Tadej Pogačar is currently the best cyclist in the world. For that reason, there can’t be any doubts about the ranking of the highest-paid cyclists either, where the Slovenian stands clearly in first place. After this magical season, La Gazzetta dello Sport took a close look at his earnings, considering everything: salary, sponsors, bonuses, and merchandising.

The core of Pogačar’s income naturally comes from his salary — around €8 million, up from €6 million a year ago. To this, he adds €1.25 million in bonuses, thanks to his victories at the Tour de France (€1 million) and the World Championships in Kigali (€250,000). If he had won another Grand Tour, an additional €500,000 in bonuses would have been added.

Then there are the deals managed by his agency A&J All Sport with Colnago (bikes), DMT (shoes), MET (helmets), Continental (tires), Enervit (nutrition), Jana (water), Plume (Wi-Fi), the Slovenian Tourism Office, and MyWhoosh (virtual cycling). These partnerships bring in another €2 million — a figure expected to rise to €4 million next season.

Finally, there’s his personal merchandising, which generates about €1 million in royalties from personalized bikes, glasses, and other gear. Part of these €12 million total earnings is donated to the Tadej Pogačar Foundation, which supports cancer research in memory of his fiancée Urška Žigart’s mother, and to his cycling academy in Slovenia.
