All the nominees for the Vélo d’Or and the Eddy Merckx Trophy, in both the men’s and women’s categories

The 2025 cycling season has now come to an end, and it’s time to take stock and determine who were the best riders of the year. The doubts, at least in the men’s field, are few — if any — but it will certainly be interesting to see who finishes behind Tadej Pogačar in the 2025 Vélo d’Or standings.

Vélo Magazine has today revealed all the nominees for both the prestigious Vélo d’Or, awarded to the best cyclist of the season, and the Eddy Merckx Trophy, dedicated to the best rider in one-day races.

Here are all the nominees in both the men’s and women’s categories:
