Pogacar at the Giro d’Italia? Beppe Conti’s words
The hope of seeing the World Champion on Italian roads in May has not faded
Tadej Pogačar recently shared his 2026 wishlist: returning to Milano–Sanremo and Paris–Roubaix to try and win them. His race schedule, however, remains largely uncertain, with only a few confirmed targets such as the World Championships, the Tour de France, and the European Championships in Slovenia.
In recent weeks, a first draft of his program suggested he would once again race all five Monuments while skipping the Giro d’Italia. Now though, according to Beppe Conti speaking on Radio Corsa, a “Plan B” may be taking shape for the World Champion.
Tadej reportedly liked the route of the Giro, and this has opened the door to the idea of skipping the Ardennes Classics to take part in the Corsa Rosa. This scenario would still allow him to start both Milano–Sanremo, as usual, and Paris–Roubaix. Meanwhile, again per Beppe Conti, several riders are said to be waiting to learn Pogačar’s definitive schedule before finalizing their own.
