Pogacar Evenepoel

We are in December and there are still many doubts about what the spring calendar of cycling’s top riders will look like. Among the rumours circulating in recent weeks is the one suggesting that Evenepoel may be ready to test himself at Milan–Sanremo and also at the Tour of Flanders, races in which he has never taken part before.

There are still quite a few uncertainties also regarding Tadej Pogacar’s calendar. The Slovenian has admitted that he would like to return to Sanremo and Roubaix to try again to win them, but for now his participation — especially in the cobbled classic — is far from certain. These are the words of the world champion to Cyclingnews regarding his schedule and Evenepoel’s possible participation in the two classics mentioned above.

ON HIS CALENDAR“We haven’t decided the calendar yet. During the December training camp with the team we will talk more about the program and the races, but on my wishlist for next year there is certainly a return to Sanremo and Roubaix and trying again to compete for the victory.”

ON EVENEPOEL“I think Remco can have a great Sanremo. Also Roubaix and similar races. I think he knows how to manage himself very well, and he would be another great rival, another rider to keep an eye on if he were to come to Sanremo, for example. If he decided to be there, it would once again be difficult to win.”
