Sobrero changes team, 2 important renewals for Lidl-Trek, 2 new signings for Q36.5 (also for Pidcock)
The latest transfer market updates for the 2026 season with Lidl-Trek once again in the spotlight
New transfer market news continues to emerge, mainly official announcements, although even in recent days no sensational updates have come out. Let’s start with a report by Ciro Scognamiglio from La Gazzetta dello Sport.
According to the journalist, Matteo Sobrero is expected to leave Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe to join Lidl-Trek. The 28-year-old, an excellent time trialist as well as a solid climber, will still ride the Vuelta a España in support of Pellizzarri and Hindley, but will switch teams starting next season.
At Lidl-Trek, the contract renewals of two key riders were announced: Simone Consonni and Edward Theuns. Both will continue to be Jonathan Milan’s trusted teammates after their recent successful seasons. Each of them has signed a two-year extension.
Meanwhile, Q36.5 confirmed the signings of Xander Meurisse and Chris Harper. The Belgian has already admitted he will focus on being a top domestique for the Briton, after having supported a champion like Mathieu Van der Poel in recent years. Harper, on the other hand, follows in the footsteps of Eddie Dunbar, also coming from Jayco-AlUla, and will strengthen the team’s roster with a view toward the Grand Tours.
