Huge turnout at the “Ride for Privi”, including Pogacar
This morning on the roads of Liguria, the “Ride for Privi” took place, an unofficial event organized by Asbjørn Hellemose, a friend and former teammate, to remember Samuele Privitera, the 19-year-old who passed away on July 16, 2025, during the Giro Ciclistico della Valle d’Aosta.
The Dane announced the event with a message on his social media, writing: “My dream is to one day win a race that I can dedicate to this extraordinary and unique person who was taken from us far too soon. In the meantime, I’ll be waiting for you on January 3 in his Liguria, where we shared many hours together on the bike and beyond. I hope as many people as possible will want to join us to remember him. I miss you, little brother.”
Participation was extremely high, with cyclists of all kinds, from amateurs to professionals, as well as many young riders. Among them was also world champion Tadej Pogačar, who had dedicated one of his victories at the last Tour de France to Privitera.
