POGACAR – “It’s only right to thank the team again. My teammates did an incredible job from the start, controlling the breakaway and setting a strong pace. I’m happy to have won, especially for them. Paul Seixas tried to follow me on Monte Sante Marie; it wasn’t easy to drop him. I told myself I had to go all-out until the top, and that’s what I did. It’s the best way to start the season.”

SEIXAS – “What I had to close earlier, I paid for later. Then Pogacar was really superior. When he attacked I could see him. He saw that I was coming back and he accelerated again. So I think he was managing, while I was at my limit. You just have to respect that.”
