Davide Stella hit by a car during training: “I’m tired…”
Davide Stella hit during training
Another dangerous incident on the roads involving a professional cyclist. Davide Stella, a young rider for UAE Team Emirates Gen Z, was struck by a car during a training session. The news highlights once again how fragile road safety still is for riders who train on public roads every day.
An already difficult comeback
The timing could not have been worse. Stella was recovering from the crash he suffered at the AlUla Tour, where he had been forced to abandon during the third stage. The following weeks were meant to focus on physical recovery, with the goal of returning to racing soon. The training accident has further complicated his plans.
The outburst on Instagram
Stella shared his frustration in a post on Instagram, using direct and unfiltered words.
“Two weeks into my recovery, while I was out training, a car didn’t see me and hit me carelessly, or maybe the driver was busy doing something else. I’m tired of these kinds of incidents that happen so often nowadays. I’m fine, but I have a hole in my knee that will slow down my recovery. But it certainly won’t stop it.”
